I can only comment on Kenmore -- Sears has used three different manufacturers to make Kenmore washing machines over the last ten years. I know this only because I owned a few and looking up parts generated numbers that corresponded to identical looking machines made by other manufacturers. About ten to fifteen years ago, Bosch made Kenmore washers and dryers. After that, Whirlpool briefly made them and now LG presently manufacturers them.

Same thing for Kenmore vacuums. Both Electrolux and Hoover have alternated in making Kenmore vacuums. I assume that there have been others.
