Micron, chip stocks plunge after Morgan Stanley warns about 'weakening' semiconductor demand

  • Morgan Stanley says the memory chip market's fundamentals are getting worse, citing rising pricing pressure and inventories.
  • The firm's comments drove the semiconductor sector lower. The iShares PHLX Semiconductor ETF declined 2.1 percent Thursday, which memory chipmaker Micron plunged more than 9 percent.
