I had a large side by side Kitchenaid refrigerator in my home that was 16 yrs old when we sold the house and moved. It still worked like the day we bot it. We did have to replace something in the icemaker..........can't remember what, but it was less than $200. Otherwise it worked great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. We replaced the Kitcheaid dishwasher before we listed the house, not because it didn't work, but because it was stained inside and we wanted something new when presenting the house. The Jenn Air was also 16 yrs old, and worked like a charm. We were easily able to replace a few old parts for new and it looked great.
