It's a company's(PR and even IR) job to put a positive spin on things. Saying there are press releases coming out and even describing them as exciting is about as far from insider info as you can get. Telling someone they are accepting a cash buyout offer of $X.00 per share is about as close you can get. Anything else in the middle is usually up for debate. Tons of companies regularly tell people their estimates on revenue, sales, etc., why not, it's basically their business plan. It's up to the investor(market) to determine the value of the information received. Anyone that plunks money down because they're told "exciting News" is coming out is a knucklehead.
