Well, that is a common trope among the GOP. I have not heard either of those people say that, but if you can prove it, it would not surprise me. Basically, the idea is that if you change the composition of this country from white to brown or black, then the Dems will gain in power. I think that fundamental precept is true, because black and brown people, my people, do tend to vote for Democrats more often. The reason is simple. Brown people are usually Catholic and conservative and they work their asses off. My hispanic family is a testament to this. The guy mowing your lawn is a testament to this. No job is to low for us. We'll do any job and work as hard as necessary to move up the ladder. It is why I am where I am. I just plain worked harder than everyone around me and I had a darned good education, so that super charged my career until I retired rich.

But here's the rub for the GOP. I have a lot of conservative friends, so I can tell you I tell them the same thing. They fucked up. They have spent their time alienating hispanic people and Latin Americans. These are people who SHOULD BE ideologically aligned to the Republican Party, for all the reasons I mentioned above: 98% are Catholic, conservative, hard working, and independent. They share most of the same values as GOP members espouse. And yet, the GOP has been openly hostile to Latin American immigrants, including Trump with his really terrible tweets on the topic.

Now, I actually AGREE with Trump's policies, including securing our borders, kicking illegals out, vetting those we do let in, and renegotiating trade deals with Mexico and other Latin American countries to ensure the US gets the best deal we can get for Americans. I agree with all of that. But why does he have to be such an insulting a-hole about it all? He makes it almost guaranteed that most hispanic people will hate him, even if we are predisposed to like his policies and the GOP's values. He doesn't appear to understand that there is a significant WIN-WIN possible between the US and Latin America and between the GOP and hispanic citizens.

So if it were me, I'd reform the GOP and wake them up a bit. We Americans need Latin America to be our best friend. We can all make a lot of money together and we can ensure the GOP is a viable party for years to come. If they don't get this one issue right, then they are dooming all of us to be ruled by the libtards and their stupidly destructive Socialism. Shoot, most Latin Americans are running AWAY from their home countries because of their failed Socialist policies, the corruption, and the tyrannical tendencies of some of their leaders.
