Rubber hoses last a lifetime (maybe) if you remember to shut of the valve after each use. It only takes one time to have a hose burst and make a mess of nearly everything in a wide radius.... speaking from expensive experience here... believe me.

Those metallic hoses are very cheap insurance.... again, believe me!
