I believe the super capacitor is more for short term acceleration such as over a hill. I believe a large battery pack will always be necessary as it takes considerable energy to be able to travel a few miles without significant recharge and I doubt that really large energies could never be stored in a super capacitor.

As for safety, current cars have many items running at several thousand degrees. I think the fuel cell could be isolated in such a manner as to eliminate the safety issue for temperature. The safety issue for fuel might actually improve for the ERC fuel cell over gasoline or hydrogen.

The more I think of an ERC fuel cell hybrid car, the better it sounds to me IMHO. I must be missing something here. Does anyone know whether any technical staff of ERC read SI?
