Glenn -- I urge you to read the whole thread. There is some very good stuff here and it won't take you long. I also held onto a few shares from the T spinoff, and bought a ton more recently when I became convinced that NCR is a very good turnaround candidate. Lots of cash, strong or dominant positions in some very promising lines of business, a good plan to return to profitability by dumping marginal lines (PCs) and steady execution of that plan.
