Thanks, Tim... This, basically, nails it. On this graph (from the article), for example, NLD - Netherlands - (a nation with approx. the same per capita GDP as the US) spends on healthcare about 10.5% of the GDP - against our 17%... AND their healthcare employment is under 6.5% against our ~9.5%.

It's not clear if those numbers include government employees at all levels in healthcare - related agencies, and many others, like people working for health insurance companies.

It's all about complexity, overregulation, redundancy, waste.
