Re-Absorbtion an Excellent Sign

Finally! How could any Chief Executive let the "Goose that might lay Golden Eggs" out of the fold... Thank God!

IMHO the most likely scenario was that Novell had made a funding commitment to provide startup funding for the Novonyx business plan for "X" years with some small stakes by private individuals. In the end they pulled the plug and took it back. Seems Eric got a page from Steve jobs on this one - Remember the Newton spin off from Apple that was suddenly pulled back into the Apple fold as the Handheld market began to explode.....Newton was too valuable to let get away.

Novonyx is also too valuable to let slip away. This is a very important turning point. This took courage and it took a battle not doubt. Sure people are crying cause all of the equity they were granted is gone.

For the Novonyx employees and specifically the president it is a horrible trick but very effective strategy. Those folks got used.... They worked 14 hour days built a killer product and did what Novell staffers could never do under the Novell structure and now Victory has been snatched away from them - Back into Novell they go. No going public for them - They will not be millionaires after all. God that must suck! But what a great way to get a very important project completed quickly and effectively!

Novonyx might be bitter but Novell is much, much, much better off. This is a classic. I expect the most of the Senior Novonyx staff to exit and be very bitter as they have become pawns in a bigger strategy.

I see this as a positive for the product - It was worth keeping. Sales must be better then expected. This could be very good news.

Not Holding - Waitng for Sub Seven....
