Just watching the election results from Quebec, it will be interesting to see what Monsieur Legault will be able to achieve in the next few years in La Belle Province. He seems very sincere and has just promised to work to make Quebec "stronger in Canada", bravo. I am getting more and more suspicious of the rich in general. The media and the polls simply deliver paid parcels and the modern voter is already connected to a propaganda teat yet has no idea that is the case. In some cases Canadians would benefit greatly from reduced barriers in some industries, an example is the telecom monopoly in Canada, it certainly needs outside competitors, we would all benefit. I will assert no opinion on supply management, I am not sure it works but it has been in place for a long time, looks like it may suffer.

In the end I think Canada has won simply with the retention of the dispute resolution mechanism. We will not be bullied. The record of the resolution panels has been excellent, a few people can always figure out who is being foolish, any larger group starts to get less intelligent, less human and more political. Trade issues are complex and you have to understand the consequences of your actions. That cannot be left to the whim of the untutored or to simpletons, however powerful.
