In general terms, I would agree, and K should have removed his candidacy if he cared about the nation and not only about himself.

Irrelevant to the division he created in the Senate. A mature person would have acted in the interest of his people and his country, but unfortunately, even if he is right he cares mostly for himself and his own pride.

K could have declared - that all the claims are rubbish, but, for the sake of the nation and unity of the US Senate he is willing to jeopardize his nomination only for the sake of not dividing his country.

That is what IMHO a man of honor for such a position should do.

As to your statement " If my family, who has fought in every war from the American Revolution onward were alive today, they would seriously wonder what they even fought for."


It is not only in the US and I can personally attest that it is happening also in Israel and I am certain in other countries around the globe.
