In case you missed it yesterday, here's the press release

DIAMOND DRILL HOLES TW97 - 4 & 5 YIELD 445 METRES OF 1.78 g/t AND
428.2 METRES OF 1.28 g/t GOLD RESPECTIVELY.

SAKIMA PROJECT - TWANGIZA DIAMOND DRILL PROGRAM.

TORONTO, Jan. 14 /CNW/ - The Company is pleased to announce the
assay results from the fourth and fifth diamond drill holes at the
Twangiza Deposit located in Kivu Province in the eastern regions of
The Democratic Republic of The Congo. Drill hole TW97-4 returned 1.78
g/t Au over 445 metres and TW97-5 returned 1.28 g/t Au over 428.2
metres (cut to 30 g/t).
''Clearly our assay results to date are most encouraging. It is
important to note that depth and width extents for an initial resource
calculation of 4,000,000 ounces were based on 175 metres and 200
metres respectively. Our 1997 drill campaign has increased the depth
extent to 350 metres and the width extent to 275 metres. Twangiza
remains open along strike and at depth,'' reports Bernard van Rooyen,
President & CEO of Banro.
''A total of 9 holes covering 4,488 metres had been drilled prior
to Christmas shutdown, and work has resumed on site under the
continuing direction of CME & Company. Holes six thru nine have been
transported to the lab and we will report the assay results as they
come due,'' concludes van Rooyen.
TW97-4 was drilled at a -55 degree angle along the fold axis and
across the plunge of the known deposit to a depth of 577 metres. This
hole was collared approximately 140 metres north and along strike of
TW97-1 (ref: press release of November 10, 1997).
TW97-5 was drilled at right angles to TW97-4 in a westerly
direction across the deposit at a -50 degree angle to a depth of 603
metres and was collared approximately 310 metres north of TW97-3 and
370 metres northeast of TW97-4 (ref: press release of December 04,
1997).
