Hey Bob,

You have a nice system going and it works for you. You are in the sweet spot as you have retired and still are able to add to your retirement assets. Many people still have to draw down assets once they retire. I bet that you have also been a life-long saver / investor.

I will use margin on occasion but it is usually just a short term loan and small percentage of portfolio. Most of my put writing is in my IRA account.

Good investment plans require discipline and flexibility. Seems that look for value across sectors as they rotate.

Even with put writing, you can do okay in down markets, Too many investors panic and sell. I have been a much better investor than a trader so I never try to time the market and tend to but securities like Buffett with "forever" as my timeline.

I do have a little bit in high risk stocks like bio but I diversify enough that I can make mistakes as long as I pick a few winners.

I am now in the woods, but not quite yet the real country. Hope to get there in a year or two. It is great that you have hobbies and stay active. Gotta keep moving.

I have never owned or sold an annuity. I don't like them like the dude on TV. However, to each his own and some folks like the safety and guarantees. Most carry a high commission.

I confess I do like cyclicals but have done better in some sectors than others.

I had PM and MO for a long time and disposed of them a few years ago. I never smoked and had some friends die from lung cancer. To each his own, and I don't begrudge folks who own them or for that matter smoke (but I advise against that).
