The way I see it. The longer China waits to do a fair trade deal. The more time it gives global companies to move into the US. This mainly for those who MFG. goods in China for the US market. IMO there are many US advantages. Lower shipping costs and more reliable delivery to US customers. Along with a good US feed-stock supplies in plastics. Also a great supply of Natural Gas. Don't forget the new lower US corporate tax rate, accelerated depreciation for businesses, along with patent protection. Given DT warm welcome at Davos. I think the Europeans would have liked to do the same, but couldn't. To those companies that moved out US MFG. It was about saving money mainly in China & Mexico. The size of the Chinese market is tremendous. However, I don't think the Chinese Gov't wants to see prices go up for it's consumers. In the US, for that, we have competition and the Entrepreneurial Spirit. The oligopoly is alive and well, but so is the mindful entrepreneur. Who would have thought GE would be downsizing these days. How big can Amazon get? They say the biggest banks are to big to fail. If I was a big overseas bank I'd be doing more lending in the US.

P.S. I think we are in uncharted territory for economists predicting how big of an effect businesses moving back to the US will have on the economy. IMO Over the last decade they been so used to the term quantitative easing they don't know what real growth is.
