I used to agonize over things but and pour over research reports. Not so much anymore, but I read quite a bit and have a few friends who I pay attention to. One has been a fan of DGI for over 4o years and I learned a lot from her over the years. You and I probably own some of the same securities. Usually the option premiums are better if expiration crosses an earnings report, Sometimes much harder to find decent premiums but for the last several years, I find that you get decent variance by sector. That tool that I have can find good premiums but you have to dig through those as most are very high risk. If you don't own any take a look at SJM. Yield 3.3% PE 12.13 (FWD) according to SA. Came down from over 120 to about 105 I guess over trade concerns and coffee prices. Decent premium for a defensive stock
