Intel's 760p flash might be rising in price because it's new technology. In the past I think flash was pretty much a commodity product. There are significant differences between families now. This product takes half the power of intel's previous generation. It also ditches SATA, and can be put directly into a PCI slot.

The reduced power means nothing to the home user, but for a data center manager that is a huge selling point.
