Richnorth,
Everything else (except the rice bit) in the article I wrote comes first hand from people I met travelling there, or from many different sources
the rice bit I read in the newspaper, it could be wrong.
I am just tired of people not being able to make a fair comment on
a place, peple etc for fear of being called a bigot etc etc.
some people do have hidden agendas when making them,
some people don't. People are too quick to engage in name
calling on both sides.
Regarding Asia, let me give you a true example of what
I am talking about. In WW2 when the Japanese ran a POW camp
they put it up beside an ammo dump, then ran red cross
markers around the entire affair, to protect their ammo and
supplies. Naturally when it was discovered the whole
place got bombed.
Bad things "we" have done? Well the British in the
last century were pretty good drug trafficers, Hong Kong
was their base for importing opium into China, a lot of
family fortunes got their start in this way. Destroyed a lot
of lives just like today, no doubt.
