This statements seems to support one of my thoughts:

People can't wait for the end of 1998 so that the Merced can arive on the scene and save the day. Well, I think some on this thread are underestimating the impact of the PII and overestimating the impact of the Merced ( at least in the short term ). Don't get me wrong, the Merced is a "special" product. But over the next 18 months it will be the PII and its variants that will ultimately subdue the competition and increase profit growth. All that is needed, as John Hull has said recently is *EXECUTION*. JMHO.
