Tom, some excellent points... Most of the time, though, we are aware of the analyst, without CNBC inviting a libel suit.. REmember Kurlak's downgrade on MU around 12/15, with MU about 22?.. It has been virtually straight up since precisely that day. ( <g>) In some cases, to be fair, the analyst is forced into a rating change by the system his company uses... Value Line, for example forces a change (for example) from "1" to "3" based on stock momentum factors. The analyst covering the stock has no choice.. But there are too many cases where the analyst is free to make a call, and generally is the best contrary indicator one can find... Meanwhile, IMHO, the chart on TER is starting to look fairly positive.. Time to increase the positions? : 207.95.154.130 dlo |
