Winter is always coming ... it's useful to keep this in mind when planning certain seasonal activities, picknicking, waterskiiing, marching on Moscow, and the like ... as a market metaphor it is just as true that winter is always coming, because markets always turn eventually, high prices being the cure for high prices, and vice versa for the low, as in the old 'all things must pass' mantra that is helpful to murmur to yourself when things are going really great or really ugly, the better to deal with the animal spirits you must contend with in anything to do with human beings ... yeah i miss EC too, he could riff off something like the foregoing and in seven minutes you'd be reading brilliant single-space text for half an hour

Problem with crypto is the same as with lithium imho - you don't have to be careful not to drop it on your foot ... means there's just not much there, has no gravitas, and besides you can't exactly fondle either one ... you know that special clink of silver coins/bars, and the meaningful clunk of .999 gold - what do you get with crypto, beyond the stupid irritating noises your phone makes? ... all this is before you even start with the issue of hackers, and an entire system set up to rip you off in the first place

You didn't mention weed - now there's something i might invest in ... a few seeds maybe for old times sake, no more ... or hey, i bet i could trade a pound or two of garlic for four or five healthy little clone plants from somebody right on this road, that would be enough ... but pay actual hard-earned cash for shares in some outfit that pretends they're got some kind of monopoly on a super-secret process [and doesn't]? - not a chance ... it's ephemera, it's like crypto, there will be fortunes lost in the madness

Precious metals will come back into fashion, eventually, as they always have before ... it's not out of the question that they do so fairly soon, either - and you know how when they come, they do it with a vengeance ... try this experiment - stick a few ssl.to or bto.to common away, tell me in five years how their return on investment compared with that of crypto, or lithium, or weed, or hand-painted psychedelic doilies or whatever
