There is a lot of information about CPTS in their latest 10-Q (Sept. 97) which you can access through EDGAR. They have three promising
products: 1) the STARRT Falloposcopy System which allows physicians to pinpoint and treat the causes of female infertility rather than
proceeding virtually by guesswork as with present systems 2) a sheath which significantly enhances the safety of hysteroscopy which is
a minimally invasive alternative to hysterectomy for treating various uterine conditions and 3) their S/TOP birth control
system, presently in phase II trials in Australia, which allows permanent female sterilization by implanting micro-coils in the
fallopian tubes through the vagina and cervix without hospitalization or anasthesia at cost savings of over 50% in comparison to
surgical tubal ligation.They also manufacture a transcervical tubal access catheter which they will probably sell or phase out to
concentrate on the other products. The S/TOP technology is their wild card. Results of the phase 2 trials will be announced this summer.
If it tests out, the stock price will take a significant jump and if it proves successful in phase III trials, which will take
several years, the stock should be trading at a multiple of several times its current price and probably will be bought out by one
of the big boys at a significant premium. The present price of around 5 is very low for a company with this much promise.
