NTT Group Looks To Boost Demand For Optical Fiber Networks
TOKYO (Nikkei)-Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. and its group companies this month started marketing a system to send multimedia programs to personal computers via a large-capacity optical fiber network. NTT hopes IP/TV, which uses application software developed by Precept Software Inc. of the U.S., will help promote use of such networks in Japan.

NTT group firms also started offering free consulting services in Tokyo for building owners who want to install optical fiber networks. The firms will advise owners on replacing existing wiring and setting up fibers and low-priced network equipment.

The firms expect to check some 600 buildings by the end of March.

I am unfamiliar with Precept Software. Anyone heard of them before?
