David & all - I think the january effect is cut short by the asian epidemic (should we escalate the 'flu' to 'epidemic' <g>?) From the biz side, the T business deal sounds good; however, I am not sure about the stk side of things. Maybe the street was expecting more. The problem with stk spikes is that they are indicative of arbitrage activities - and when traders see no follow through, they dump their positions as quickly as they acquire them. More important, as I ve said before, I think T stk deal is not too encouraging. Working from memory, it is something like a $12 for a small %age of ownership. IMHO, the lack of apparent premium (it can be argued that the business transaction is the premium) is putting a short term ceiling on the stk.
