Wiseowl, interesting post about maintenance ease of SUNW machines. Just curious: How difficult was it for you to actually detect what was wrong? Do you attribute the quick downtime of 30 min only to your superior experience (sure always a factor), or to superior support the system itself gives you, you know, maybe smart messages directing you towards errors (like DOS never did, but maybe Solaris), or was is because you employ superior non-SUNW sys admin software, or was it because of superior SUNW hardware design facilitating things that need to be replaced? Just give me an idea. Maintenance ease can sure be used by SUNW as a competitive edge, IMO, but I'm not a tech man. Brief comment highly appreciated, Thomas
