<<Ooooh, Miss Penni!!!!!! >>
I was delighted to see that you are finally showing me the respect and esteem I deserve. It has bothered me a great deal that you and Alexa felt free to address me by only my Christian name and no proper title, but I hesitated to call attention to the fact as I didn't want to embarrass you with your lack of decorum and because Miss Manners says one must never give a title to oneself. Even when my similarities to Mother Teresa, the pope, and God were pointed out to you, you failed to take the hint. I told myself that a goddess is never appreciated on her own thread and that you have many redeeming qualities despite this small, though glaring, imperfection. However, my husband is quite distressed over the use of the title Miss. He feels that our boys are at an impressionable age, and that this implication of illegitimacy is not morally healthy. He would prefer that you address me as Mrs. penni or at the least Ms. penni. Personally I prefer The Divine penni or perhaps Our Lady of the Sacred Thread. However, knowing your usual stubborn resistance to any suggestion, regardless of its suitability, I'm sure you will have your own ideas and I can't wait to hear them. Maybe it's time for us all to bestow new titles on each other. |
