I’m not sure if this is what you’re looking for but I got a Roku TV for my studio. It’s ok, though I don’t use it much... don’t watch much tv and much less in my studio.
I'm happy to hear any and all experiences with streaming devices in this thread. Or anything else related to the entire home theater experience.

The question I had was regarding the services that replace traditional cable and satellite subscriptions for live TV streaming, but thank you for mentioning your Roku experience.

One thing I had read in the past about Roku devices, or at least the older ones, is that the apps and interface were buggier or didn't perform as well as the same ones on other streaming hardware. Don't know if that's still true.

Once in a while you get a break in the action, but I’m sure that’s the Internet, not the device.
Yes, that is one of the caveats I've run into with both PS Vue and DirecTV Now. Last night when watching the live stream of the ALCS between Boston and Houston was one of the worst ever times I've had with it. The stream would freeze and I'd have to hit the Play button again on my Apple TV remote, or it would being playing and suddenly jump back in time by a couple of minutes. Sometimes it would comically speed up by itself very quickly to catch up, other times I'd have to fast forward it manually.

I assume the problem was due to traffic load and the PS Vue network's inability to handle it, since I have a very solid 150mbps download connection through Comcast.
