Trump delighted as China proposes it buy four US Aircraft Carriers to balance this year's trade deficit - businessinsider.com

The proposal which appeared in the "People's Daily" pointed out the problem is not that China does not buy, but that the United States does not sell," referencing the escalating trade war between the two countries.

"For example, if the US is willing to sell its Ford-class aircraft carriers with one piece is priced at US$15 billion, and the US sells four to China, we can immediately narrow the trade gap by US$60 billion."

Trump told reporters, "This aircraft carrier deal will be the largest weapons sale ever made by any administration - and we don't really need them. It's a win-win."

The proposed aircraft carrier sale comes at a critical time while the Trump administration is under heavy pressure from Congress to cancel their $100 million arms deal with the Prince of Saudi Arabia following their live dismemberment of a US resident.

The USS Gerald Ford may be included in the coming arms deal with China
