Hello Steve, The DSL landscape is really intereting. We are now running more than a year late compared with the plans of two years ago. But if the telcos would have moved faster they would have been left without equipment because the development of mass deployable equipment took much longer than expected and mostly is still unfinished. I find it very interesting but logical that TI develops a special purpose DSL chip. If they bothered to pay $400 million for Amati technology they really take the DSL market seriously. And I suspected all along that the the TI C6x DSP solution was a decent choice for central office equipment where you can run 2 to 4 lines on one C6x chip but overpowered and too expensive for CPE equipment.
