on this side of pond am watching malaysia, as we have family / abode there

so far malaysian prime minister is all talk and no anti-china action, as there is no percentage in being anti-china

china just wants to be merchant, investor, and do commerce, and if counter-party(ies) do not wish to, then okay, as one cannot play in other's domain without consent unless one intends to send in the gun boats, and then not even, per history does matter
