Holding any 3x ETF is nearly a guaranteed way to lose money. Look at the returns for example on JNUG and JDST - over a 3 year period, both are negative and last time I looked, you would have lost 30% in either one. That is because they keep rolling over futures and there is recurring costs with that. Very short term, sure.
