Friday January 16, 10:02 am Eastern Time Company Press Release ChemTrak Reports Results for Fourth Quarter 1997 and Year Ended Dec. 31, 1997 SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 1998--ChemTrak Inc. (Nasdaq:CMTR - news) Friday reported total revenues of $675,000 for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 1997, down from $866,000 for the fourth quarter of 1996.
Product revenues for the fourth quarter 1997 were $675,000, an increase of 52.4 percent, or $232,000, from the $443,000 reported in fourth quarter 1996. Total revenues for the calendar year 1997 were $6,402,000, compared with revenues of $3,061,000 in the previous year.
Product revenues rose 14.5 percent to $2,819,000 in 1997, compared with product revenues of $2,463,000 in 1996. Net loss for the fourth quarter was $2,407,000, or 18 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1,454,000, or 13 cents per share, in the fourth quarter 1996.
Net loss for the 12 months ended Dec. 31 was $5,195,000, or 40 cents per share, compared with a loss of $7,826,000, or 77 cents per share, the previous year. The reduced loss for the year is due primarily to increased revenues from ChemTrak's line of consumer diagnostic products and income from funded research, including payments made by Astra Merck. |
