I did live in CA for about a year - 1978-1979. San Francisco, and briefly in Corte Madera in Marin. Had a peek-a-boo view of San Quentin from the deck, through the eucalyptus trees.

Loved the weather, loved the recreation opportunities. I spent Thanksgiving eith friends in 1978 in Tahoe. Lot of snow. I used to take in an evening movie in the Mission district. I’d buy a burrito and smuggle in two beers in the pockets of my army surplus jacket. I think that’s where I saw Wim Wenders “The American Friend”

Coincidentally, three of my ex girlfriends also lived in the area and I got together with them occasionally - not at the same time ;-)
