| | | Trump gets jobs for felons 16 Don Surber by Don Surber The best way to rehabilitate criminals is to get them meaningful jobs when their incarceration ended. Obama's plan -- lamely tacked on at the end of his miserable presidency -- was to "ban the box." Less than two months before his reign ended, he signed an edict banning questions about a job applicant's criminal past.
President Trump has a better plan. He is enforcing immigration laws and improving the economy. Naturally, President Trump's plan works because unlike Obama, President Trump ran something other than his mouth before he became president.
CNBC reported that President Trump's policies have led to a construction boom and a shortage of workers. Companies no longer can exploit illegal aliens to fill those jobs. CNBC did a report on a program in Baltimore to train Americans to do those jobs illegal aliens cannot do.
Placement director Kate "McShane says 75 percent of participants have some acquaintance with the criminal justice system. Others, like Eugene Jowers, are simply Baltimore residents looking for a new career opportunity. He's been working in the field for some two years and is eyeing a long career ahead in the industry," CNBC reported.
Instead of papering over the problem by making it illegal to ask if a potential employee is a criminal, President Trump is solving the problem by expanding opportunities.
Neil Munro at Breitbart reported, "Under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, construction companies were able to freely hire illegal migrants, legal refugees, and legal immigrants in place of young Americans. That high-migration policy boosted Wall Street by lowering wages for employees, so it pushed many young Americans out of the workforce. In 2008, the construction industry collapsed, sharply reducing the number of experienced workers."
President Trump takes care of America first. Even a career criminal has priority over border jumpers.
