Merrill Lynch has been at a 100% requirement for a while. Fidelity moved it up several times, I think from 50% to 60% and finally 80% a couple of years ago. Very strange price action indeed, especially after earnings. Volume was almost nil for most of the day, right after earnings, and there was a huge bid/ask spread fo most of the morning (like 60 cents). Market maker must be accumulating shares so he has something to provide when demand for shares skyrockets in the near future. Just one bit of good news and he will be cleaned out.

From a news report on KVH earnings from "theenterpriseleader.com":

Several equities analysts recently issued reports on the company. Needham & Company LLC reissued a “buy” rating and issued a $14.00 target price on shares of KVH Industries in a research report on Friday, August 3rd. Zacks Investment Research raised KVH Industries from a “hold” rating to a “buy” rating and set a $14.00 price target on the stock in a research report on Wednesday, October 17th. Finally, Chardan Capital raised KVH Industries from a “neutral” rating to a “buy” rating and set a $20.00 price target on the stock in a research report on Monday, September 24th.
