The Republicans have a strong bench. The problem is that the process we often get a poor candidate. I voted for Sarah Steelman and she would have beaten claire 6 years ago but Todd Akin beat her because of so many dim crossovers. The two big issues that seemed to resonate with voters based on polls were immigration and health care (but the dims means insurance which can be worthless)
