At the consumer electronics show last week, interactive program guides (IPG) were apparently the key to interactive TV. Microsoft, TV manufacturers, set-top box and internet box manufacturers all want their products to proliferate and GMSTF is the equivalent of the browser/operating system in all these devices. Microsoft has TCI, US West and Comcast as cable partners. GMSTF has truly reached critical mass and on its way to the big-time. Alex Brown is estimating an extra $250mm revenues over the next 5 years above and beyond current estimates. This revenue basically drops straight to pre-tax income as the software costs are trivial and they are to make $5 to $15 per box.

Now if we can just have a big VCR+ quarter as well, this thing will be firing on all cylinders and estimates will have to go up again.
