Hi Klaas,

It would fit the corporate growth strategy of POT, in the past year
they have completed their diversification (Phosphates & Nitrogen) to
be a truly integrated fertilizer company, they have negotiated for
the German (Kali) or European connection, and with Asia being a great
consumer and growth market it makes sense to have a foothold in Asia.

Sakatchewan has the deposits and technology and installed capacity for
world leadership, they are also a long way from markets and Port facilities. Much of the total delivered cost of fertilizers is the
transportation cost.

Yes it makes sense to own assets in Asia, I must admit however that
I have no details on the proposed deal.

Hope this helps,

regards,

Terence Mitchell

PS. I spent many years in Potash, in recent years I have lost contact
but the history and evolution of the industry is very much a part
of my past.
