Why are you asking silly questions? IE for Mac and IE for Windows are two different products. That is why there is such a difference in heft? The DLL's are part of the Windows OS, where the Mac incarnation does not have such attributes. If you were a true tech head you would know this. I am a lay person and this is painfully obvious.

Whoa, Reg. I'm a true tech head, and it's not obvious at all to me. What MSFT is saying is that in order to remove any application that uses a shared library, the library must be removed. This is patently silly, absurd, and could be interpreted as a downright lie.

Yes it is. You now have a new product that does things that no other product does.
