Did you get a usb 3.0 or 3.1 flash drive? I realize things are generally more expensive north of the border, even with currency adjustment. Recently picked up a Samsung 256GB Bar Plus usb 3.1 flash drive for under $60USD all in without any special coupons. It's still nib, unsure to give it to a girlfriend as a gift who has usb 3.1 on her new pc... or keep for myself and use on her pc so that my file transfers are faster! Patience would have yielded a better deal, expect the regular price to be $50 to $40 on sale within a few months.

I agree with Mr. Watson that outerwear cases for internal 2.5" SSD is the economical way to go, they are pretty slim and small to begin with, find the toughest, smallest cases out there. USB 3.1 to SATA3 cable can be had for $10-15 on amazon. Last I saw an external SSD in person they were 33-50% smaller than most of the HDD pocket drives I've owned like WD passport and Seagate goflex. But it's a newer product line than consumer 2.5" SSD and should take longer to decrease in price like 2.5" SSD.
