The Santa Ana’s died down yesterday and last night but are expected to kick up again today. My place got pretty smoky at one point when the wind shifted.

I’m amazed more homes haven’t burned down. JXM and his in-laws are providing shelter for friends and their animals. One friend lost their vacation home in Malibu.

Have lots of friends in the burn areas but none of them have lost their homes - that I know of.

A lot of what’s burning in Malibu is pretty rough terrain and also previously burned areas. I don’t know why anyone would want to live in Malibu. You have to drive miles to get to any shopping and the only road is Pacific Coast Highway, which is always jammed.

Pepperdine University is closed until after Thanksgiving. The fire came right up to the campus and burned a bike rack, but the firefighters saved the place.

I’m sure there are more celebrities who lost their homes but they’re not letting anyone in to find out.

As far as I can tell, the hardest hit area is the northern part of Malibu where the really expensive homes are. Some beautiful estates there.

Edit:

Incredible! Another fire just broke out in the Santa Susana Pass. And it started just off the freeway. These fires have to be caused by an arsonist.
