yes, it's true. This time will be no different. However, the Fed has a lot to do with it too. Powell has a double barreled shotgun aimed at the economy right now in the form of raising interest rates and QT. So the backdrop was already one where we could expect cooling in the economy and a correction as tax stimulus wears off. But when you add to that a Socialist Party that is in the ascendancy and who just took control of the house, and then promptly started announcing anti-business programs...well, that may very well be the final straw that will break this economic camel's back.
I think the Socialists know exactly what they are doing. They want a stock market crash and an economic malaise to ensue, so they can blame Trump for it. The next two years will be all about obstruction and economic harm so they can attempt to regain power. If Trump is lucky, the stock market crash and recession will happen in 2019 and the GOP and Trump will be able to fight off the coup attempts and the anti-business attempts, so that we can see a good economic recovery in 2020 through to 11/20. If Trump and the GOP can engineer that, then the Socialists will look silly indeed. As of right now, the only person who has enough star power to even begin to compete with Trump is Beto, the non-hispanic who is culturally appropriating a hispanic name in Texas to fool hispanic people into voting for him. But even Beto won't be able to beat Trump. So I think the Socialists have a lot of work to do to overcome Trump. Their best shot is obstruction and impeachment. By the time 11/20 comes, they will have thrown the kitchen sink at him and if they haven't brought him down, then we'll see another 4 years of Trump. That's my prediction.
The Socialists live in constant outrage now, really to the point of exhausting themselves and everyone else in this country. Can you imagine the outrage if Trump wins in 2020? They may just decide life is not worth living as a Socialist in this country. We can only hope.
