Michael Avenatti is in police custody after a domestic violence incident took place this week between him and his estranged wife, multiple reports noted on Wednesday.

According to TMZ, “Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after a woman filed a felony DV report.” The report adds that “her face was ‘swollen and bruised’ with ‘red marks’ on both cheeks.”

Our sources say the alleged incident occurred Tuesday night, but there was another confrontation Wednesday between the two at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A.

We’re told Wednesday afternoon the woman was on the sidewalk on her cellphone with sunglasses covering her eyes, sobbing and screaming on the phone, “I can’t believe you did this to me. I’m going to get a restraining order against you.”

Cops showed up and escorted Avenatti into a corner of the apartment lobby and spoke with him for 5 to 10 minutes, and then took him into custody.

A law enforcement source says on Tuesday, Avenatti “kicked her out of the apartment” and that’s when the alleged domestic violence occurred. We’re told she went back to the apartment on Wednesday to retrieve her belongings and called police to stand by in case things got heated.

Michael Avenatti has repeatedly suggested that in order to beat Donald Trump in 2020, you have to beDonald Trump – but this is clearly not what he should have had in mind.

Not to mention: Democrats do not tolerate this type of behavior. Just ask Al Franken, who was forced to resign from the Senate after a lewd photo of him surfaced.

Avenatti may have earned the respect of liberals by waging all-out war on the president for his possible criminal activity, but he is in the wrong political party if he thinks he’ll ever get a pass on this.

Republicans might turn a blind eye to the womanizers and criminals that they knowingly support – from Donald Trump to Roy Moore – but Democrats never will.
