Todd, Just for the record.
Yesterday morning at 1:00 A.M. when I mailed you a response to your
memo I was half a sleep. I did not address your question about wheither MA for long term could be used with THQ as it is in a trending range right now. I don't beleive you can. I mailed a memo
where I quoted Dr. Elders when he says that if a stock is in a trending range then trend-following indicators will give dangerous and misleading results. Please note that he makes that as a general staement and he does not give any exceptions. His statements include all time periods short, intermediate, and long term. I have
read the same thing in several other books and they say it the same
way that Dr. Elder does. The statement is general and apply to all
time periods with no exceptions concerning the time period quoted at all. Dr. Elder never discusses the time period in respect to these
general rules that he lays down in his entire book. If it is not trending
then forget about trend-following indicators and that is all he says.
