I lived in NYC through its 2 "storm of a century," which happened far too near each other, and I can tell you that I had never known the city to have been so beautiful and peaceful.

I also found it ridiculous that some people abandoned their cars in the middle of the road. Having lived in Toronto, Canada, I can tell you that snow there often doesn't even last till the morning as the city clears it overnight.

There is no such thing as too cold or too much snow; there is only inadequate clothing and inadequate preparation ;) And on that note, I rest my case with the following photos :)

This is my street in winter :) I took the shot with my cell phone.

This a creek a couple of blocks away. I think it was March using a Sony NEX camera.

You can't tell from the photo, but the clouds were about 20 min of skiing beneath me. This is the French Alps. It's an old photo I took with my Canon (Film camera).

This is also the Alps and there is a small lie here in that the photo is rotated slightly to make it look fully vertical.
