You were responding to a post from somebody else, and THEY were talking about actual, not estimated earnings.
Actual earnings for 1997 were 1.84.
The number that everybody was bitching about on Yahoo was the figure that they publish for actual earnings and P/E. The change on Yahoo was NOT an "earnings revision".
While I don't have all 4 quarters handy, the past two quarters were each 0.55, and I beleive the past 4 sequential quarters were over $2.00.
I'm sorry that it confuses you so much that the numbers are similar. But you should pay attention to what a conversation is about before you jump in.
It's like somebody said "a dollar fifty", and you said "wrong". Only they were talking about the cost of a Sunday paper, and you were thinking of the cost of a Big Mac.
In legal parlance, getting this right is called a "meeting of the minds". However, in this case, I think that's impossible to achieve, as half the equation is missing... |
