I think the first time I realized that, as an adult, I probably would want to live where it doesn't snow was watching my dad go to work. We lived in a suburb of Chicago, which had repeated, heavy 'lake effect' snow. The snowplow would come by early in the morning and plow a huge pile of snow up where our driveway hit the road. My dad would have to shovel first the driveway, then the pile, just so he could go to work, every morning.
