Jim,

We knew all these long time ago that performance would drop if Intel FX and TX chipsets based motherboards are equipped with more than 64MB RAM.

It is not Intel could not design a chipset capable to cache over 64MB RAM, Intel intentionally desgin TX chipset with limited 64MB cacheable RAM to force their customers to upgrade to PII if these poor victiums need to install more RAM. That's why that I have been calling everyone from buying any Intel TX based motherboards.

BTW, I installed the additional cache tag (pulled it from an old 486 mobo) to Asus T2P4 to enable it to cache over 64MB RAM. Asus SP97-V (using SIS5596) could cache up to 128MB RAM.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
