These sort of categorical--women versus men--generalizations always trouble me. Whichever way one cuts. I get the argument that women are dramatically under represented in political positions. And democracy will be healthier if they gain more representation. I don't know that that alone will make governing more effective.

I've seen arguments and had experience that get me close to agreeing that women tend to work more collegially than men. But that could easily be because of previous discrimination. If power increasingly moved to women, I suspect they are likely to be as likely to be collegially as men now. Cynic that I am.
