I have a hunch, looking at these posts and the Late Filing Notice, that the quarter itself was OK (maybe earning that dime) but that a charge is being taken for reasons not yet known except that KPMG may have told them to take it - or a reserve of some sort that whacked things down substantially.

Note that the loss for fiscal 1995 was not in the millions but $275,361 per the Notice filed with the SEC.

This may be a quibble but "flat earnings" means, to me at least, that they did not rise from the prior quarter. "Flat" doesn't mean "zip, nada, zero" and that's what they had if not an actual loss as pointed out by John G. - actually it was about a 1 cent per share loss based on 13.5 million shares.

If the quarter itself was OK but there was a charge for a restatement or another reason involving an earlier period or even year, or one affecting the entire year but not occurring in the final quarter, technically Mills could be correct about the quarter being OK but that is extremely hair-splitting and misleading, IMO, if he knew of another situation which caused the actual loss for the quarter.

As everyone has said, we'll see...
